About him

John has been active in the music and performing arena since his days at school where he was involved in several outstanding performances and gained top honors at competitions. He was awarded Champion in the Soloist and Group Categories in Pioneer Junior College ’s Talentime. Notable competitions in which he emerged finalist include the Rhapsody Competition and Impressario, organised by the local universities. He participated in Song Challenge Champions, a performance with Tanya Chua in National Day Parade 2000. In 2002, John bagged the International School Music Awards for Best Composition / Vocal Trainer.

John has received vocal training at Bangkok Patana International School . In 2007, he was the Leader of Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Music and Drama Vocal Ensemble. In addition to being a singer and pianist in the SAF vocal ensemble, John has also contributed several music arrangements and compositions to the group’s repertoire. John has previously been Choir Conductor and Vocal Trainer at MOE Schools , as well as Vocal and Keyboard Instructor at several other music schools. His strive for musical versatility, and his ability to build easy rapport with students of various ages, will make your musical journey an enjoyable and interesting one.
